What was the recording process like? Did your band go DIY, or was it a professional job? Please, more details.
Just listening on my iPhone's crappy speaker, everything but the kick sounded pretty good. Guitar tone seemed a little harsh for the style, and the vocals could stand to come up a bit, but otherwise the song was there (just listened to the first minute or so of Lay in Hell).

Makes me think "the lovechild of Metallica, Pantera, Motorhead, and King Crimson". You guys remind me heavily of 80's thrash, but your riffs and musical sense displays some definite prog influence. (which is very good, coming from me. I'm a prog guy myself.)

I like it. Vocals are a bit harsher than they need to be, and a little off at times, and I'm not really one for metal usually, but Yeah, I like it. And hey, the off moments (which are few and far in between) really just show that you guys are not auto-tuned or any crap like that.

Your bass tone is fantastic. Very hearable, which can be very hard to accomplish with metal. (What bass is that, and what is your effect/amp setup? Sounds like a P with a Pick and maybe a Badass II, with overdrive and high mid and treble levels.)

Oh, and your playing on "Young Minds" is phenomenal. Keep up the good work, my friend.

You guys are all quite talented musicians, and it's good to hear a new metal band that I can understand the lyrics of. Keep me posted with your progress. My band's first album should start work later this year. You guys have great potential. Good luck and God bless.

Don't hurt me, but I think the tracks, "Become The Man", and "Young Minds" are okay - with "Become The Man" being the weakest of the two. The flow of the lyrics just seem oddly paced or far too sparse for my liking. "Buried" and especially "Lay In Hell" are hits that I can easily envision being played on the radio. Nice bass work on "Buried", and "Save Our Lives" is the most surprising track (to me); even though "Buried" and "Lay In Hell" (again, to me) sound like radio hits, "Save Our Lives" is just a straight-up, head banging, awesome song.

One more time, that's just my opinion, and I hope you are not offended by anything that I just posted. If anything, just ignore whatever you didn't like or everything all together. Overall, I like it.

Recording was awesome. Pretty much just drank beer and played our songs... A lot like practice. Ha. We just had to be a bit more precise. Drums and bass were basically laid down at the same time. We all played together w/o vocals for the bass and drum tracks and then went back over them to fix problems. After that, recorded guitar, recorded another guitar track, and called it a day... Yup, that was a whole day. Next day was leads, vocals, and mixing. Two marathon days like this is hard as hell for reals. Seems like it wouldn't be but man... It was.

It was pro though... motaland. Bart rules for the heavys!

Thanks, dude & yeah... My first time ever singing in a band that wasn't a cover band and the first time recording vocals. It's hard, that's for sure. Way harder than recording bass parts. I'd figure it took me 5x as long to record the vocals as it did the bass and my voice was jacked by the end of the day. Hard.

Anyway, the bass was a G&L L2000 passive, series, knobs at 10. Amp was a '76 SVT and cab was a '78 810... My gig rig & it was mic'd w/ a Shure Beta 52. Then that was mixed 50/50 w/ a SansAmp BDDI fairly clean. Buried obviously wasn't clean & that we just re-ran through the BDDI with the gain cranked for a 3rd bass track.

Totally appreciate it though. Stoked you guys dig it and we'll hopefully make a few people happy.

Honestly, I've only heard Truckfighters when they come on my Pandora station. Other than that we're just three guys that grew up on punk rock and metal & this is what came out of it. We have tons of influences, but we didn't really set out to mimic a band or anything. Thanks, though. I totally appreciate it!
