Any and all advice is greatly appreciated in regards to composition, playing and production!

I liked it... something I would listen to.

That is... up until the vocals. No offense to anyone though. To me, they dont fit the music.

^ Hey, I like those vocals, they sound like a blend of James LaBrie and Maynard James Keenan.

The song's good but it's not my cuppa tea. And I don't think this would be what Steven Wilson fans would enjoy (myself, for example); sounds like what Katatonia and Opeth fans would love.

Thanks for the feedback! We get a lot of mixed reactions about the singer - some like him and others can stand him. Spot on with the Keenan influence btw - his favorite singer

As much as I love Wilson, this band is probably not going to be sounding a lot like his music. I am very influenced by him in my solo stuff though - check Lunacy on my Soundclick for that (or one of the Blackfield covers :P )

I'm agreed with Wayne on this. The sound is good, really great recording too. Just the vocals slip out a bit. This is no reason to get upset about though, it still works, and I think it may be too much compression on the recording and not letting enough of his low-end or grit come through. If not, tell him to eat lots of crisps before singing so he gets a nice grit.

Also, try EQ the drum symbols a lot more, they're a bit weak.

Other than those TINY problems, it's sounding GREAT. And once again, it's an easily fixed problem, just talk about it.

But, anyways, can't wait to hear more of this, it's truly goodness to the ears.

The singer is decent, at least he is in key. The band is very good.

Nice song.

The piano parts were cool: a bit like Wait For Sleep by Dream Theater

I quite like the singer. Guess it's a matter of personal choice. I agree with Luke on the cymbals thing: they do sound a bit "sploshy". But that's just a little thing.

I'll say the song sounds contemporary (in a nice way)

Wait to Sleep is amazing! Can't say I was inspired by it when making it though If anything, I was listening to a lot of Allen/Lande when I wrote it

I guess I'll work a bit on cymbals sometime soon!

Cheers guys!

The bass used is a Woodo B6 Walnut Fretless through a Pod x3 live (Flameshield needed there? :P)

It's cool. Not my type of music. Vox, I'm not a fan of. Everything else seems fine except for the panning. Is it just me or is it mixed mostly to the right? On my phones and speakers thats how it sounds...

Thanks mate

Hmmm, weird. I don't hear that at all and running it through meters and looking at waveforms it's very evenly distributed in right and left.

The drums are panned pretty widely - I dunno if that is putting you off a bit, hmm

Any others noticed this?
