My bands first rough cut of our song. I'm so proud *bass solo content*

I cannot stress the words ROUGH in this statement enough, levels aren't quite set right, eq isn't on neither is panning and the lines aren't quite perfect. We are just a bunch of seventeen year olds with a digital 8 track and a mic, not much recording experience. But we are a Progressive Power Metal band and I happen to think we are pretty good... The bass sound REALLY good from the solo on. However everything before was left up to our lead guitarist who thought the bass was too loud. So he brought it to about 0. So up until the solo isn't very bass-y.

Feedback, comments and etc would be great. My guitarists are recording through a condenser mic in my friends basement, my drummer with the condenser behind him and a crap-o mic on the kick drum. And I'm recording direct XLR to XLR on the 8 track, from my Fender 100 Watt combo. Any thoughts on getting a little less suck out of the guitar tone would be great. it's just so thin on this recording, and we're kind of inept haha.

Thumbs up Feedback

Yeah, the recording quality is like you said.
I think I can see where you were going with that bass solo, and if I'm right, then it will be awesome once you tighten it up. I think it might sound better an octave or two lower, but that's just speculation.
Overall, I like your band and will keep an eye on any music you post. Keep it up!
