Hey guys, my band recorded our first song in october 2010, and I never posted it anywhere yet besides a few times on Facebook.
We're a group of 5 Juniors from Kamiak High School in Mukilteo Washington. Our Current band name is Lead Based Paint, but I think we're trying to find a new name.
Here's a link to our song "Eye of the Storm": http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=9772607
Tell me what you guys think of the song, and any suggestions you think would help us.
Thanks-
Adam

You should look into a company called Disc Makers, and see if they will master 1 song and send you a remastered copy. you may have to purchase a block of cd's to get this done, but its worth it!! They compress everything so there are no spikes in volumes, but make sure what you send them is what you want to hear because they dont remix it. When you pay for thier service they put it on Itunes and a few other places for you. Do you not have a singer?

You all sound competent not sure about the critisism about the drums they sound ol just badly mixed and the same for the bass. Very muddy, over compressed and inconsistant throughout the mix eg bass drum comes and goes. If you have a copy of the original mix you could try and get someone to do a remix? Try the guys at Homerecording forum and see if they will do a mix for you.
Good luck |

Vocals would throw it into a new realm and make it infinitely more marketable. Also, I don't know what is necessary for the players' styles to be considered suitable for any particular purpose, but if that's the sound you're looking for, well, that's all that really matters. I like it because it's different. It's art and you're allowed to do anything you want with it!
Keep doing what makes you feel good and maybe you're just breaking into a new style of music that nobody ever considered. For a few younger musicians this is a real achievement and you all have much to be proud of. Congratulations and keep up the good work! |

Bruiser: We actually didn't pay for the 2 days, a friend of mine let us record in his studio during his free time so we decided to use that opportunity to attempt to record it haha. We may or may not attempt to re-record it because we want to start writing more material
Spaz:Yeah, he does know how to blastbeat, but we couldn't really figure out where to put it throughout the song. And yeah, you can only really hear me during the jazzy thing in the middle of the song
Rockmusician: I can maybe see how the drumming doesn't fit the song, but I dont think the drumming is terrible. But thanks for the kind words, bro
Arranger: Thanks, i really appreciate it! We've been looking for a vocalist for the longest time, but to no avail... hopefully one of these days we'll find one!
