my band's hurried recordings

hey my band just finished up a little demo and i wanted to see what you people thought.

www.myspace.com/onemoreroundmusic

it's kinda pop-ish, ska-ish, punk-ish...whatever.
the tracks aren't really mastered or anything. but i did try my hand at mixing and stuff.

so...feedback?

ps..."line em up" is probably the best song to listen to.

i think they sound pretty good. my big thing is not to release a demo before it is completely done. mix, master, remaster if you want to but always have a finished product before you release it.

that's true. i did some EQ and expanding/ hard limiting, but i dont think i can actually turn out anything that could qualify as pro mastering.

but thanks for the feedback.

i don't want to come across as i was knocking your music, i am a recording engineer as well as a bassist so i am always thinking about how it comes across to others. just having a clean mixed and mastered product alows so much of the small intricacies (sp) to come across to the listener. keep working on it man. have a good one

The band in general actually doesn't sound too bad, imo. The only BIG weak point, imo, is the guitar's lead tone. I think that could be improved upon.

+1 on guitar tone. Bass sounds good though! Good job on the mix, not bad at all. Demos are just that, it gives a good feel as to what you guys can bring to the table.

ahh yes.
someone agrees with my feeling about lead tone. it always has a weird bassy thing to it. my band members dont mind it, but i dont like hearing it that much.

its good music, i like it... seems a tiny bit "hurried" ina place or two on that Line Em' Up song.. but otherwise, I like. Especially the bass.

oh, and +2 on the guitar tone.

i blame the lead tone on the guitar.
it's an ibanez iceman, and it's too metal for the music
