My band's NEW SONG! (prog/metal/experim) -- NEED FEEDBACK!

I’ve posted here before, but if you haven’t seen my other posts:

My band Tetrafusion (instrumental prog rock/metal) has had their EP out/available for several months now, and we just finished recording/mastering another song from our upcoming album. Check out “Dark Matter”…our newest song. It is one of our heavier songs, and the first half is a little different from the second half, so listen through the whole thing if you can. Our first CD will be purely instrumental, but any future albums we write will have vocals…we’ve been asked this question many times (couldn’t find an adequate singer for three years). Anyway, we’re simply looking for feedback from a musical standpoint as well as a quality/production standpoint.

MySpace quality can be embarrassing at times, so to hear the full uncompressed version please check our BetaRecords page:

www.betarecords.com/tetrafusion (just click the play button beside it..it is sort of hard to see)

or simply our MySpace:

www.myspace.com/tetrafusion

or

www.tetrafusion.net (official website)

Our upcoming CD is a concept album based on cosmology and physics. You can read the full album concept in our latest blog entry right here:

http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...ndID=123710656

Feel free to check out the other 4 songs if you haven’t heard them already (I’ve posted here before).

Hope you enjoy..Thanks for everyone’s time. I really appreciate it.

-Mark (TF)

hm... it seems a bit too homogeneous IMO. It doesn't really lead anywhere.

I agree (to an extent) all the parts are really well written, but don't seem all that well connected. It's hard for me to judge this style too critically. I like prog, but I don't care much for this style of prog, I'd recommend this to a Dream Theater fan in a second, but I personally like a different variation on prog.

That said, you are all very good musicians and you have some very cool basslines. I do think the addition of a vocalist would be a wise decision. A lot of the parts seem to be "toned down" to allow room for vocals that never enter.

Good stuff overall.

since your an instrumental band, you need more flare on top of your grooves cause the parts where it dies out and its just bass and drums, feels like there should be some singing, but there isn't any so it feels empty.

its an alright song I guess, it feels REALLY slow to me for some reason, and the keyboard feels almost unnecessary, it just plays afew notes here and there and its really high in the mix so it really sticks out.

I'm crazy about prog metal, but this just dosn't work for me, sorry man,
