My cover band's recording

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys and girls,

I've just finished mixing my cover bands first EP. I don't want to call it a demo because I spent so long mixing it. Anyways, take a listen if you like. The songs are a good time and any feedback is appreciated.

Vocals are very dry and weak in the mix often over powered by the rest of the music.
Bass is overpowering in most of the songs, or guitar and drums are weak.
Levels on every song is different.
Keep tweeking those knobs.

Why'd you change the bass line so much to Aeroplane? Your recorded version feels boring.

As far as the mix I agree with JDJen. The drums and guitar all sound 10 feet behind the bass. I like where the bass is at but everything else needs to be mixed in better. The Ballad of John and Yoko was probably the closest to a good mix.

Ouch.
Thanks for the feedback though, as much as it hurts to be critiqued I do take it on board. The mixes lack that certain "pop" that I'm used to and obviously I'm not 100% happy with them but for one of my first mixing projects I'm relatively happy.
