My favorite release of 2009: OSI's "Blood".

More of you should own this album. Seriously, it's good.

http://www.osiband.com/

It's a side project of Kevin Moore (Chroma Key), Jim Matheos (Fates Warning), with special guests - Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree, King Crimson) and that singer guy from Opeth.

With a lineup like that, you'd expect a noodly prog wankfest... but instead, it's actually real music (methinks Kevin Moore is largely responsible for keeping things musical and atmospheric).

Most likely these guys aren't millionaires - I highly recommend buying their disc or downloading it from iTunes.

I'm an arbiter of good taste. You can trust me on this.

I wasn't aware they had a new album out. I already own their 2 previous albums, I'm sure if it's as good as those are then I'll have to pick up a copy of this one.

Whoa, they still exist? A friend of mine had an album of theirs with a song called "Horseshoes and B 52s" on it and I really liked it, even though Mike Portnoy played drums on it (sorry, his style isn't my cup of tea). Real interesting blend of electronics and prog elements. I'm gonna go listen to their samples from the new album, I guess.

Have their previous releases and just downloaded Blood a couple of weeks ago from iTunes. Was pretty excited when I saw that Gavin was playing drums on it, as I'm a HUGE PT fan!, and it did not disappoint! Really enjoying it, probably more than the others.
