Hey,
This is a band I'm in. We play Hip Hop kind of stuff mixed with Funk, Jazz and Rock. We've been together for about 2 months and we only have 1 song recorded and it's just a rough recording, but I think you guys will get the idea.
Feedback is welcome! http://www.myspace.com/fofsoul
Our band name is actually f(Soul) or Soul Funktion, something like that. Anyways, Enjoy! |

| | | | Yo I got a question.
What IS IT?
Surveillez votre anglais. Votre chanteur a vraiment l'accent montréalais en passant :P
This is very nice stuff. I don't think your signer sounds bad. But he sounds young, and so do the lyrics.
You're definitely onto something there. |

I think if y'all fine tune this and record it professionally, it'd come out pretty decent! Get the sax player's mouthpiece in tune! The rapping wasn't too bad. I think a singing hook would work better. I liked i though. Good job and nice bass playing. I suggest you check out my Funk 101 thread and listen to some examples. |

No fan of the compression when he comes in either, nor the odd switch of voicing/EQ on the vocal track later in the song. I really like the part at 3:15, but not what's leading up to it.
The reason I'm being a bit picky about the cons, is that I really like everything else!

Seriously, though, the musicianship is good. I think with regular vocals (in other words, singing) you would project more of a mature and respectable image.

Cool and funky. Keep on roc...funking!
