hey guys!
I don't know how many of you talkbassists are in London or the UK...but I'm just giving a little heads-up on the launch gig for my debut album 'Mr. Ears' at Charlie Wrights International this coming Thursday 17th December. The album is actually available to listen to and buy now, but this is the very first gig of the material and the group (which is totally BURNING!). I don't wanna ramble on and on and bore everyone but if fusion is your bag (I'm talking Weather Report / Chick / Mahuvishnu era) then have a listen and tell me what you think. And if you're in the area then check out details for the gig on my website and COME DOWN!!
" Cai has a playing style very reminiscent of Jaco, but his compositions are all his own and contain a great balance of groove, jazz sensibilities and emotive melodies. This album did remind me quite a bit of Jaco's debut solo album (and I mean that in a good way).
" Cai will surely make a splash with this CD....he's a great player playing honest music. There is no pretense here, he's playing from the heart!"
Bassist Damian Erskine (for 'Bass Musician Magazine')
"...with Cai's abundance of catchy tunes, snaking funk riffs and his own forceful fretless playing showing he has plenty of original ideas...Marle-Garcia drives this band along with bubbling basslines and some serious solos.
"'Mr. Ears' is a satisfying and substantial album that marks the arrival of a promising new British bass talent." Bass Guitar Magazine review
Thanks guys and gals!
peace,
