Im fixing to go to guitar center and get a bigger mixer and more XLR's so I can record some stereo V-Bass. Will have some of those clips up later. I love playing lead bass; I just wish I was better at it

I can't hear notes because of the effects.

Its not my thing mate, so I really have no referance on whether its good or bad...its new!
If you want to know if its getting better, I need to hear what it 'was' like.

The effects do sound nice.
At a couple places I can't tell if its you being off or the filter moving your attack.

007... I think your style has an original funkiness to it wich is very cool but, i have to say.... i think it would be cool if you did some recordings without the effects. I realize that effects are your thing but, if you ALWAYS play with effects even when your at home rehearsing, my question is... how do you know what your true tone is? I think it would help you get a better feel for dynamics and nuances if you experimented without effects for awhile. I dig your style and i see alot of potential for some cool sounds with all the effects but see what you can do without em..... just my 0.02$ By the way, i think you might have jammed with some friends of mine in the DFW area. Stephen hughes ring a bell? He's a killer keys player. Off track but i thought i would mention it.

Where is stephen ? Please tell him I want to jam again with that drummer in Lakewood. That guy is amazing on keys.
Yea, Im simply addicted to those effects. I wish I could play with out them. I just cant get into playing without them though. I make too many mistakes, it seems like, without effects. Effects hide my slopyness

LoL... yea that was kind of my point with the effects. But either way it sounds cool. Stephen is still playing with the same drummer. Man both of those cats are killer musicians. They have a project going now called "Coalition". I jammed with Stephen while i was in Dallas but i had to move back over here.... was a real bummer. You could probably hit em up on my space. Good luck man

Ahem, I hate ragging on your parade but your FX definitely don't hide your sloppiness, it can be heard very well, the filters can actually enhance them IME. You've got some interesting sounds going on but little of what I'd call lead bass. For me lead bass was always playing melodically as opposed to rhythmic playing. Larry Graham's solo stuff, for instance.
If you can't turn them all off, how about trying to restrict yourself to only one effect at a time. Oftentimes the result of having to work with restrictions is a fresh, new way of approaching things.

"lead" means to take centerstage, to be in the limelight. you can do that with rhythmic complexity too, as some slap bass players have shown. =)

All the more reason to practice without them.

This is just me though. If you dont like effects, THATS FINE. Whatever trips yo trigger, my _____
