not bad, thats pretty good coming from me...

I like the active bass line in the 2nd tune

I think you could get more leverage with better recording and mixing

The first thing that struck me was the stereo image seemed too tight,
Also the guitars are under mixed, and the guitar parts could be a bit more interesting and textural. the vocals seem a bit removed from the intstrumentation, good to hear a vocalist that can intonnate

I'm not a fan of the more popish slant, but you are doing a nice job

Sounds good on my average computer speakers.

Nice driving bass line and vocals on "if we love" (dig when the singer goes falsetto). Like your tone as well. You are playing just busy enough for the song and keep things moving. I like the kick being out front.

The post criticizing the production seems a bit picky to me. It's a good, balanced mix if you ask me but I'm also fairly ignorant when it comes to the technical aspects of recording. My ears like it.

thank you for the kind words on the recording! I thought the bass seem'd kind of low in the mix. I thought the guitars were fine at the level they were. Vocals came out great! It was a pretty low budget recording so I'm pretty happy with the turn out it got. Thanks for the tone comment! I think those were recorded with the Zon Legacy Elite 5 with the Popular body with the 2 Zon Humbuckers set to middle.

Hope to have this recording out soon on CD!!

Sounds edible enough - for the pop cereal market.

what you guys will need to work on now is differentiation. many bands cop that sound - so hopefully you look different or you pull a crazy live show off - or both.

The bass is well seated in the mix - I was able to hear everything clearly and I could feel your changes.

I'm not a big fan of DI bass exclusively on rock recordings - but the tightness of your sound demands it.

GREAT kick on that recording.

Good luck and Great job getting a Sat night slot at Arlene's.

Thanks for the kind words BassJunkie. I hear you totally about the whole DI Bass thing. I actually wanted get a DI Signal and another Mic'd Signal and stereo it some how. I thought would add the tightness of the DI, but adds the warmth of the Mic'd sound.

Also with a low budget recording, I think we managed to get what we asked for. ()
