Atmospheric, dark, and disturbed. They're soundscapes, not songs. They're all short. Sonic form with ADD.

Tell me what you think.

I imagine the majority here wouldn't be interested in hearing your project as you describe it.

However, I have sent a friend request and placed you on favorites so I can hear what you've been working on once I'm home.

I suppose you're right.

Classification is subjective.

Talkbass isn't too big on "strange" music. There is a group on myspace.... well... here http://groups.myspace.com/index.cfm?...F4F95633802356

You can talk to some interesting cats there, and get a little more feedback, etc.

I dig, BTW, and thanks for the Top 8 business.

Well no offense intended at all, but the only reason I even checked the thread after reading the title was to see if you were really using the words horror/noise to describe some form of music hehe. Perhaps other TB'ers are the same as me. If it says Horror/Noise and is in recordings, its likely not for me hehe.

I like it.

I hope to start my own noise style thing gong. It will be more musical though, and consist of bass and drums though. I just have to work on my pedal board...

I like it. I'm doing a dance/electronica thing these days, and hearing stuff like this gets me inspired.

Yes it is, unless you don't dig horror movies. I tend to follow the belief that the best real music comes in film...where you can be truely experimental....almost more "jazz" than "jazz" so to speak...when you think about it, as soon as you define something, it loses its true identity, becomes stale. I think John Zorn is doing a good job on the other hand.

Speaking of Zorn....you (Raayl) must REALLY like patton.

I, personally, love making noise (ebow, loops, delay, tons of effects) just as much as i love playing cold sweat. besides, isn't that loosely what part of the premise of truely innovative, revolutionary music is: to produce sound from your instrument that isn't normally heard?

Noise is jazz, really.

Patton is a faveorite of mine, but I can't help that I look and sound alot like him.

Everywhere I go, I get the "OMG U LOOK LYKE DAT GUY FRUM EPIC!!!"

And really, I agree. Classification of the "experimental" genre is pretty much pointless. We say noise because we cannot think of anything else. It's beyond pretentiousness. That's the goal. To just "get away" from what bogs down the typical musician.

Noise artists are pure. Pure and un-hindered. You can think of it as solipsism, really. I find too many musicians are concerned with finding the "right" notes to play. So I try to get rid of notes all-together.

Specifically jazz artists, in my experience. They're too preoccupied with western theory. Jazz is about playing what comes naturally. Stop thinking so much.

Noise is a ceasing of typical sonic conformities.

To me, at least.

There aren't any samples. All the noise is home-made by me.

I'm influenced by nothing, really. This sort of just "happens." I don't listen to much music, actually. What influences me most are experiences in my life. I've had a pretty turbulent, disturbing past. And it's all under this facade cast by every-day life. It sort of "spills" out in my own little sick way.

I think I tried to be Mike Patton from the ages of 13 to 17..

That being said, I will check out your little "ditties", hehe
