My take on "Song For My Father"

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, yesterday I recorded Horace Silver's "Song For My Father". I'd really like any comments and criticisms on my playing, especially the solo. I know there are a couple timing issues in the head, so don't beat me up too bad about that.

Thanks.

I dig your tone! I think the triplets in the head came out a little slow, but other than that it sounds great! I just don't like the drums...

I agree, the drums do sound kinda bad. I didn't spend any time mixing them; probably should have. Also agreed about the triplets, gotta work on that.

Thanks for the comments on the tone, I just plugged my bass right into a mixer and recorded. I actually wanted to go for a really smooth tone, but I guess I was too lazy to do that, but it came out kind of interesting sounding.
