My Veillette w/ Thomastik Flats sound clip

Sign in to disble this ad
Just stole this Veillette Mark IV off the 'bay for $850 through the front door. It has the older Alvarez preamp. I put on some Thomastiks for some more clack when playing straight ahead jazz. Didn't even set up the bass (and it needs it - piezo elements are out of whack).

...can't believe how much it sounds like an acoustic bass. I'm so jacked I could crack! Joe is the man!

The clip is a one-chorus solo on My Favorite Things reading it right off the chart a few hours ago. Just a mono room mike into the mac.

Cheers and may the fours be with you.

LOVE the upright sound!! What would you say gives this great upright sound..the piezo? What kind of piezo is it? I would love to be able to duplicate this on ANY electric bass.

Sounds great. I know a lot of guys like nylon tapewounds on piezo-equipped basses, but I really like the TIs too.
