Hey after a while working on this song I finally finished it and thought it was good enough to post on YT can any of you tell me what you think of my playing of the song? And if you have YT accounts could you rate please?
(BTW I know I'm gonna get a lot of the "Use your pinky more comments", so it's pretty unnecessary)
here it is sorry for the bad recording quality http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=4pXT__QQr7U
thanks a lot |

| | | good play dude I checked out your vid and replied accordingly. Seriously, you should train your pinky. You got insane stretch from your index to ring finger and if you used your pinky you would get mad reach. Short, stubby digit mo-fo's like me who have to work just to stretch one finger per fret would sell our mothers for a better reach. Later!

At 1:54 I couldn't tell if you were hitting the A string as well as the D and you might have been (I didn't see the A move much though).
But if you're not, Cliff play an open A before the notes on D during that part...makes it sound really cool (hope that made sense).

Hmmm about the speed yah I go a bit fast, whenever I play with the recording I get it right but I seem to go a bit too fast whenever I do it myself. Hmmm have to improve on that but at least I'm not going too slow |

| | | | Hey man,
Overall it was pretty good to me. You need to relax though, and play with the song in the background more to nail the timing, but good job! |

I made a distortion one on Putfile but its just so dang awful the mic cracks so much , but It really does sound awesome with my Morley and Big Muff.
I'll see if I can make a version with out the mic cracking. Right now though I'm working on The Call Of Ktulu with full distortion and wah. Haven't seen that one on YT yet |

Much better than I can do. I'm ashamed that I haven't ever bothered to learn it, I even have the vintage Morley PWB and EHX Big Muff Pi. I've only used that when doing For Whom The Bell Tolls and some doodling live. |

Due to the fact that you dont use your pinky, you are killing the notes when they should ring. The way you are playing it, there is a very small but very noticable silence between the notes. |

Are you sure it's not the recording that is ruining this "ring" you speak of?

So in order to get to the next note on time, you have to move your finger from the note you are on because you cant stretch that far. The time from when your finger leaves the note its on, to when you get to the next note, there is silence.
I'm sure I have succeeded in confusing you. I am *not* good at explaining things.
Maybe someone else can give a better explanation. |

To be honest I don't find the stretches that big to use my pinky, I find it much hard to shove my pinky in there and get everything else clumsy and slower. Also could someone tell where to use my pinky I keep getting these comments but I find I play it so much cleaner without using it on some riffs.
