My Way of Saying Goodbye to Talkbass

Sign in to disble this ad
Yes... it's one of those "I'm leaving Talkbass" threads... but why isn't this garbage in Off Topic. I wanted to say goodbye with a song... which is also the reason I'm leaving.

http://www.myspace.com/drrskt

Frwll is the song, which if you speak Drrskt, either means Farewell or Freewill, it's up to you. I figured it a fitting goodbye song since it's my first ALL BASS song that I'm proud of. Every track is bass totaling about 17 bass tracks, with a lot of post production who hash to make it weird.

Why am I leaving? Same reason as anyone... I spend too much time here (see post count), but this time around, I feel like I've taken enough from Talkbass... now I gotta put some of it to use. I'm going to update my recording rig come Christmas, which means I NEED to record more, maybe something a bit more focused.

I find myself at this point not learning anything... not even having fun anymore. Just getting in the same old pointless arguments that I don't need to be having.

So I leave you with some sad creepy all bass weirdness. I talk to a lot of you on myspace... but if you don't believe in myspace because it's too trendy: m169666t@edinboro.edu

Later ya'll.

(I know, I know... he'll be back in a week... right? probably)

Eh, why go through the "I'm not going to be here..." routine... You don't do that to friends when you can't think of things to talk about. And that's what it's all about here, friends. Definitely spend more time playing, that's the point, but remember that a what you learn and experience can help others here. If you really decide to take off, that is all up to you, but don't make it a big dramatic process. And I have almost 8000 posts. That is way too much time here... But, what would I be doing otherwise? Wasting time somewhere else.

Well, the goodbye thing piqued my interest. I've never read a single post of yours, though. Thanks for the farewell/freewill song; it makes me want to start smoking pot again. I suppose your mission in life is now complete and you may go to your grave. Au revoir.

IF he's gone, he's not gonna see any of the well wishes or "stop by from time to time" so really posting on this thread is a big fat waste of time for you guys.
Jeez, you guys should really find another thread to post in that actually contributes to TB in .........hey...wait....am I......err....I am...hmm.....umm.... WE'LL MISS YA MATT!!!

I'll have to try and get in touch Matt. I'm sure I'll forget for a while, but you're not that far away.

Hahahaha. Excellent suggestion. I'll implement that on the forum where I'm an admin. That will call the drama queens' bluffs. (No offense to the thread starter here. This is not the typical dramatic exit with parting shots and goodbye cruel world.)
