Oh well. |

Anyhow, sweet tone from the Bongo, although I wouldn't say it is better thann his tone with the Yamaha. I really like the hollow sound he gets with the Yamaha, the Bongo is a little bit too full sounding. |

Seriously though, its a good bass for the money, very fast and a nice clean tone though the higher strings do get a bit trebly so sometimes I have to play in a different position. Bongos are nice though for hard rocking and it fits a harder balls to the walls sound |

Mind you, getting a better bass is nothing if they're content to write songs like that! |

Oh well. | See Liquid Tension Experiment - you get a few DT members in there and a similar sound. |

With the talent in that band, I'd much rather see/hear their instrumentation without having to deal with vocals. I bet they'd be amazing in the "jammier" context (not noodly, mind you, just extended improvisation).
Just my opinion.
Edit: Jumbotron beat me to it.

(and given him a decent bass to do it with). That said, they have some great songs, Universal Mind being my favourite and one of the best things I've ever heard from Petrucci. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
