That was a wonderful clip! Nate Watts is a monster player for sure. Stevie Wonder is a heck of band leader. That band too tight for words!

Nathan Watts, probably the least mentioned Motown bassist, but none the less my favorite one!

But what kind of bass is he playing in the video? It looks like it says "Allesandro" or something on the headstock.

Thanks. Aside from being great and playing so many cool grooves over the years, he has some of the best slides and zings in the biz. Like he does in I wish w/o ever losing the groove.

The guy walking Stevie out in the beginning of the video (and later shown singing background vox) is a good friend of mine Keith John.
And has a KILLER voice himself.

Sorry - didn't like it...

I looked for a few minutes but just can't stand that synth sound replacing the horn parts!!

The great thing about Sir Duke is the wonderful, exuberant horn playing - in tribute to the big bands the lyrics mention - and to have that replaced by a cheesy synth patch is too much to bear!!

Man, that is some killer bass playing. He had some great runs on Sir Duke. That man is a master!

Bruce - I have to agree a little bit. It loses something in the translation to keyboard, but hearing the Watts and that drummer made up for it! Great playing!

Were other instrumentalists playing? Guess I was preoccupied by the tasty bass
