Nathan Phillips From Pleasure.

I cannot believe that this is my 1st time hearing this cut.

Sounds like a Stingray to me.

Killin tone. Think I'll wipe the dust off of my bass and start back playing.

I used to cover "Joyous" with one of my bands. Never could quite do it justice though!

I'm giving you kudos for playing this, period.

It was a lot of fun to play! Pleasure was such a wonderful combination of flavours. And just killer players all around.

Nate Phillips is a beast! Did time in several funk bands! Now doing the jazz thing! He and Lamonte Johnson were probably on top of the heap of funk bassists back in the day. This is some really accomplished playing on this cut!

On a different note, check out the guitar playing! I'd love to have a guitarist like that in my band!

I was waiting for your comment. Yes Marlon "The Magician" McClain works magic on that guitar.

I remember hearing "Glide" on a low-powered FM station as a teenager, and the DJ never announced who it was. I recorded half of the song on my tapedeck, and learned it as best I could back then.

I only found out who it was about 4 years ago. An amazing player, for sure!

Same album as "Glide", yes ("Future Now"), but it's actually Pleasure's fifth album.
