alright, I'm a freshman in highschool and am in french 2 right now. We're doing this project type thing where we pic to do different kinds of activities that are french, like cooking a french meal and bringing in the recipe to class. anyways, on of the options is "learning a french song on the instrument of your choice". Does anyone know of any french music that I can learn on bass? |

On a more serious note, I don't know if I can help you much, as far as playing the bass and singing it. Just get up there and do some raps

you should check any songs from Les Cowboys Fringant or Kain,
There was also this song called Le Rap a Billy with a cool slap bass line
Or Venus3 ( http://www.venus3.com/multimedia.html) elle marche, paranoia and dans les airs have pretty cool bass lines too |

Another one is Jean Leloup, pretty easy stuff to sing and the bass is most of the time very cool. Try to get the song Alger from him, it has an awesome bass line.

Harmonium is another good one, 70s prog/folk music at its best. |

It was a good resource for French artists when I had to give a cultural presentation in French 4 a few years ago in college. Some of the info on foriegn artists is a bit dated, but still holds value for such a presentation.

I didn't know it was Sylvain on that song. He is a very good bassist.
Another song I like the bass line is the live version of Fu Man Chu / Charlebois. |
