I once found a prog band's CD at BestBuy.com that I really wanted, but now I can't remember their name. I'm pretty sure it was a one-word name, and both the band's name and the song titles on their album were all really mystical/deep/mythological/having to do with nature-sounding. I think one song title had to do with the ocean. All of the tracks were instrumentals, and they were all very melodic metal with some synth stuff- it was really well done- not cheesy- and I believe the album was done in the last ten years. Sounded a bit like the newer Neurosis albums...not really chugga-chugga metal. Any help? |

Uhh, my other guess would be Isis, but they're not 100% instrumental. More like 70% or so.
Pelican don't have any synths though, but Isis have (very subtle, almost inaudible and cheese-less). |

Oh and BC- I said no vocals, no multiple harmonies of grown men singing in falsetto about lightning and trolls |

To me they sound a lot like Explosions in The Sky.

My GAS problem includes CDs, and I'd say it's a lot worse for them than it is for gear. I guess that's a good thing, considering their relative costs.
