Need Help finding a tune's title

Sign in to disble this ad
I've had a little success using the keyboard to try to type a rhythm that a reader could understand, so I'll try again. Late 60s tune, instrumental, might be a film theme but I don't think it is. Chances are you've heard it somewhere but never gave it much thought.

The melody notes are as follows (One 4/4 measure per line, @120bpm. "/" represents an eighth rest:

E / / / D / / C
B / A / G / / /
A / C B C / / A
G A G / E / / /

E / / / D / / C
B / A / G / / /
A / C B C / / A
Ab Gb Ab / A / / /

Much thanks to anyone who can help!

Subscribed. I perfectly know that tune... with the exception of its name. I'd like to know it as well, since it brings many fond memories. When I was a teenager, someone told me that its Spanish title is "Gris" ("Gray"), but I can't confirm that (the info didn't come from a reliable source). It's one of the first melodies I learned to play on guitar.

Yes!! (well, it wasn't "gray" but "blue" ). Here's the original version, after a quick research:

And here's the most popular version (from Paul Mauriat):

Thank you so much, Jim!

As a very young kid (...and I know I'm younger than both of you...sorry...) I remember camping out in the spare bedroom @ my grandparents' house listening to LP's on the ancient hi-fi. I felt kinda naughty looking at that Paul Mauriat album cover when I was 7-8 yrs. old. Love Is Blue was one of my favorites on the record. Probably haven't heard that song since then, thanks for jogging my memory, that was fun!

"Love Is Blue" translates over to "Gray".
I can see that.
