NEED HELP IN STARTING TO LEARN

Hey all of u experts at recording ...ive been playing bass for about two years ...now i wanna learn other thing...i wanna learn how to record,i just wanna get into to all of this live sound and recording...can u help me out im beginer at this so bare with me please...i dont know where to start.what software and hardware should i use,i have no clue where to start to learn...thanks a lot..
