Need Input - Song recorded on the Zoom H4 Handy Recorder

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everyone,
I've been using a Zoom H4 digital hand recorder at band practice so we can easily record our song ideas.
We recorded a rough take of one of our new originals and the rest of the band wanted to add it to our myspace profile. I really didn't want to post it since I'm not too confident about the quality of the recording at all.

Does anyone else use the Zoom H4?
I could really use some real world tips on how to get a good sound when recording a live band. I've been experimenting with the settings and the placement of the Zoom H4. I've been using the Zoom's built-in stereo condenser mics. It would be great to also get some feedback from real people.

If you want to check out the Zoom H4 recording and give me some feedback go to
www.myspace.com/jostelenweed

The song is called "Wake Me"
Keep in mind that this isn't the finished song, it's really rough around the edges, but it's getting there.

Any feedback of any kind would be great too.
Thanks!

Sounds like a typical basement recording
