hey,

we are currently working on some tracks in our home recording studio. and I'd like oppinions as to if my bassline in this track is a bit too busy ? the other band members like it - I think I've listened too much - can't really make my head straight atm. of course this isn't like a real recording - it's only an idea bank - but please give an oppinion.

It's not too busy at all, if you're thinking it is, you could always alternate the busy parts/nothing in the verses, (one verse line would be busy, the next line wouldn't be).

Only thing I would change, stylistically is at the end, that slap chord thing, I didn't think it fit, maybe just strum the chords or if you have a fretless do a fretless slide. Just a thought.

thanks for the input - as regarding the slap phrase I tend to agree - that whole bridge might be used in another track all together.

I like it, vocals need to stand back a bit-too loud in the mix. Just my 2 cents

I liked it. The bass was fine. The singer has a good voice. The mix
sounded very "mono." I would make better use of the two channels --
maybe even use some tricks to get the instruments to stand out more.

yeah well this is actually just a idea - it's not recorded for releasing yet. the drums are made from superior drummer, therefore very uninspiring and dull. and yeah - it sounds VERY mono - because none of the tracks - besides the drums are
