Need opinion on my bands songs

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys.

Wanted some opinions... My band the FARSTAR is releasing a new EP and we put a song ("Waking Up 2:15") up on the local radio station's page. I wanted some opinions on my band from other musicians versus just "listeners" or our friends, etc. We are trying a more immediate/current sound for this paticular song.

-If you care, for "waking up 2:15" i used the geddy, into my digitech x (distortion), into zoom B2 for flange, into the manley into sonar.

We also have some stuff at our myspace too www.myspace.com/farstar For all the new recordings (in the myspace player). I used the geddy jazz (with emgs passive tone control) with amp/cab (either manley compressor, eden into 4x10, or portaflex). Feel free to give your opinion on that stuff too.

The stuff in our snocap/itunes is from our last record I didn't play on. But it's cool too.

thanks...

no, not signed yet.

my band (the farstar) was signed to an indie label for the 1st record. but those of us here who know, getting signed is just really a loan.

and an indie label often sits and waits for a bigger label to make them an offer for the band, but usually does nothing to help that happen.

so the band basically pays back the indie label for recording/processing costs, because indie labels often don't have the funds or desire to put a band on the road or widely distribute the album enough to make positive money.

sometimes DIY is best, but free money (or even money you have to pay back) is better than none. that said, we are accepting offers from labels

anyone else have any opinions on our stuff the links:

thanks for your time!
