Need some constructive critisism

Alrighty so about a year ago, I joined a band called Tukoo. They say their sound is Americana. Now I have never played in such a style, nor am I familier with it in the slightest but they liked me so they took me on.

We recorded a demo a while back and put it up on our Myspace. This is where you come in. Have a listen to it and let me know if I'm doing the songs justice. I feel quite comfortable with what I'm playing but would love to hear what my fellow bassists think as the rest of the guys know little to nothing about bass and let me have free reign.

The songs I'm on are Cage of Matter, Both Sides of September, In The Morning and Straw Dogs.

Any tips, thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I just listened to Cage and September. They sound great to me... not over the top, but adding something to the groove. This type of music doesn't call for any Jaco Wooten licks, just some solid grooving.

On a quick listen, I'd say you've got nothing to worry about. Rock on.

Whoa that was quick! Thanks man, glad you like it!

When we play September live I tend to play almost the exact same thing, but slap it instead. It's usually a set closer and is full of energy when we play it live so it fits...not sure it would have worked too well with that particular recording though.

I like 'em!

Good solid sound with enough space to sound really clean.

Goes to show you, there's lots of good music around, you just have to know where to look.

Thanks for the comments

Feel a bit better knowing that I'm not doing anything overly bad haha.
