This makes me think of being back in high school. I personally like this. Anybody else? Still wish Layne Staley was involved though. |

I still miss his voice/style though.
I forgot how much I used to love this band.

As much as I really want to LOVE this, IMO they are just trying too hard. The song is well written, and the new singer definitely has tons of talent - but Layne he aint. To ADD off track a little, it makes me sick to see Kurt get all the recognition, when such a soulful mofo like Staley is overlooked.....I'd really like to hear his own style and input....but I do understand he has the weight of the world on his shoulders in pressure. Sorry man....do your own thang.
My only other critique is, it sounds like they are trying too hard to stick with the sludge rock groove....even though that's what makes AIC what it is. The song has great potential, but the internet critic and wannabe producer in me would have liked to have heard the chorus at a higher pitch to break the monotony a little. Maybe juust the bass up an octave, or just climbing up on the harmony spots (bass) instead of following the sludge guitar down. But then again what do I know...I am a shizz cover band bassist and barely adequate at that.
I give this an A- All that said, this is miles ahead of any other crap that's been on the air in years. When's the last time a band made a difference in the landscape and really made things change? The first person who says nickelback or creed....I am driving to your house and kicking you in the sack.
Can't wait for the release, and will DEFINITELY see them anywhere within 2-3 hours. RIP layne.....I think he'd be smiling over this.

But anyway, let's not hijack this....we can argue in another thread if you'd like.
PS, like most other music for me....the more I listen to it, the more I like it. Is there bass in this song?
