Coming September 5th, audioslave's new album. I'm stoked. I heard the new single "Original Fire" today. I don't think its as good as their past stuff, but its something different at least. Very cool song.
Anyone else stoked for this?

well, as a fan of RATM and tom and tim, i will still be buying the cd regardless |

That said, I don't think this could be any worse than the last album, but ti seems that the last album somewhat "knocked the wind out of their sails". I feel that not since they made that first album have they really gelled musically. The last album was a wheel-spinner alright. And because of that, it's hard for the next album to get me excited. |

The second album has grown on me a lot, but the debut/first Audioslave album is awesome...landmark!
Seen em' twice live and both times they were awesome. |

The first album just sounded like Cornell singing over RATM riffs. We'll see how the new one is. i heard the single once. It didn't blow me away, but hard to judge off one listen of one song.

They've done studies you know, they say 60% of the time, Tom Morellos solos fit every time.
oops.

The second was initially dissapointing, but the more I listen, the more I like it. And it didn't sound like soundgarden or Rage. I anticipate that the third album will deviate even more from the sound of Rage, which is both good and bad I suppose. |

Thus second album took a sharp turn for the worse--it just seemed like they turned the knob from "11" back down to "1". And Morello's guitar playing seemed very dull to me.,
I for one really liked "Original Fire", though. Not at all like Rage or Soundgarden, but it's alright anyway. And Morello finally throws in a good solo--didn't fir the song all that well, but it's better than anything on Out of Exile.
