Hey, I just got into a new band, its a kind of metal band. Think something like Darkest Hour or Killswitch Engaged. Along those lines.
Anyways, we just got a ton of recording equipment (Tascam 2488 mkII as the main) and recorded our first original song.
Please remember this was the guitard doing the drums, so they are sloppy at times, but it needed something there.
So please, tell me what you think of the overall tones of the recording, the sound of the group, and how you think we could improve. http://www.myspace.com/deathinnorwalk
Please do not leave worthless critisism like "You Suck!" or anything like that, just save everyones time...

The drummer needs to be much more intense on breakdowns. Once that is cleared up add a singer with stage presence-your music demands a Bruce Dickinson meets Phil Anselmo.

We are currently looking for a drummer, and the singer lives about 45 minutes away so we were just wondering what you all thought of the sounds so far.
We recorded guitars with a metronome and just laid drums over it, kind of backwards, eh? ha ha.
If any of you have any constructive criticism it would be awsome, we are always looking for ways to improve. When we get other songs recorded and get vocals on this I'll be sure to let the ones know who want to hear!
Thanks guys!
Heath

We just spent almost 2 grand on the recording equipment, we can't afford a double bass pedal just yet. When we get a real drummer we'll make sure he's good at double bass, though.

Drums are really loud, bad and random if you ask me. Maybe its just my speakers...
Guitar and bass are pretty tight, so I don't like the actual tones of the guitar (midscooped to hell and back) but thats just my personal taste. Can't say much on the bass tone as I didn't hear it.
If vocals came in later in the song, ok, if it came in before the minute mark I didn't hear them but I heard some growley stuff in the background that might have been distortion or 'singing'
I'm sorry I'm useless
