So my new band (indie rock kinda stuff) recorded a 3 track demo recently, and just got 2 of the tracks back.

http://dearnobleleader.bandcamp.com

The tracks are Every Empty Town and Perfect Queue (acoustic version).

Let me know what you think, whether about the basslines, bass tones, or the songs in general. Thanks!

Good job! The bass sounds great, and so do the songs. I wasn't sold on the intro to 'Every Empty Town', but the rest of the song made up for it.

Good on you!

I like it, keep it up. I think the bass lines fit very nicely on arrangement.

awesome, thanks for all of the positive comments ... i really appreciate people actually listening to it.

We finally got the third song back, and it's called "Search and Rescue." It can be heard and downloaded (totally free) here:

Sounds great! Reminds me a bit of the Get Up Kids.

johnny - I don't get the get up kids reference, but I'm a fan of theirs (they were the first band I ever really saw live, with green day about 10 years ago). Thanks!

ghostjs - I used my OLP mm4 (or whichever model is the 5 string, haha). It's got a nordstrom replacement pickup, and I ran it through my trusty bass VT and aphex bass exciter pedals into my carvin b1500 and out my avatar neo212 cab. The recording is a mix of the DI out of the Carvin and a mic in the room. Glad you dig it!

It's more in some of his vocals than anything else. I guess the music is a bit more indie than the GUK. Maybe more like his later projects like The New Amsterdams.

Or maybe I am crazy.

I don't know if you can manually change album art on itunes, but here's the logo we've been using:

glad you like the songs!
