New band, new style, new everything

For some reason, I've always gotten stuck in metal and punk bands. I do love playing that music, but it's time...
Time for something different. I've always loved funk and dance music but no one has ever wanted to play it with me.

It's one thing to get the crowd all hyped up and moshing and headbanging, but to me, it's gonna be an even bigger rush to get the crowd dancing, tapping their feet and nodding their heads.

I just wanted to share with you one of the songs that my new band is working on. It's no where near completed. All the guitars, vocals, and keyboards still need to be recorded.

Please give me your opinions or advice.

I'm using a Frazz Dazzler into the Aguilar Octamizer, then switching over to the Digitech BSW.

It's a fun tone let me tell ya...

That's one of the setting on the BSW. It's got a good range from a deep "yeah" to a really high pitched one.
It can also do it reversed. So it says "aye".

I wouldn't classify this as funk. More like "krautrock". Sounds good, though.

Nice stuff. It serves the purpose of booty shakin' well.

Thank you, thank you.
Nah... this one in particular isn't quite "funk". But other stuff will be. Just trying hard on the booty shakin' area.

I can already see the lasers and fog machine...

Hats off for jumping genres. I get a little bored or stagnant at times too, but when this happens, I have generally just put the rumblestick down for a month or two. This is a better idea, and you may have inspired me.

Thanks Hector! Make sure to post the finished tune.

Love the tone. Also, I've got to say when you said "dance", I feared a third-wave retro Killers kinda thing..
But very electro. Which I definitely go for, especially from a live band. Did you ever get into The Faint's album Danse Macabre?

No third wave retro Killers thing.
I just want to make blatantly electro mainstream dance kinda music.

I've always heard of the Danse Macabre album but never actually chekced it out. I'm doing that right now.

if you get a chance check out pendulums hold your colour album, based on your playing I think you could take a lot from that album.

also the synth burps around 1:50 are a great touch!
