Well, finally the new CD is out at last. For the last couple of years I've been playing bass for Jonathan Harris who is a regional country artist in the Northwest. About 6 months ago he was signed to a new indie label out of Nashville.
Over the past 6 months he's made numerous trips to Nashville to record the CD in various studios. They used great session guys, including Joey Canaday on bass (who I got to meet during a session....very cool cat).
The cool thing for me about the cd is that although it's a country cd (which I do love country), the bass parts are not your typical root, fifth stuff. So, it's very interesting to play.
Anyway, we had the CD release party a couple weeks ago and a few hundred fans showed up. There's already been a little radio play and we're hoping for a lot more as soon as the single is released. And we're all crossing our fingers that this may finally be the CD that takes us to the next level. Jonathan's had pretty good regional success with his two previous CD's that he released himself. So it will be interesting to see if having a Nashville label (even an indie) will add anything to the mix.
