I'm surprised this hasn't been getting any talkbass love. The last 3 Cheap Trick albums stand up to anything else they've done in their career, and "The Latest" may be the best yet. Check out the song "Sick Man of Europe"; Tom Petersson's tone gives Entwistle a run for his money. I'm thinking P-bass as he generally doesn't use the 12 strings in the studio. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApBANSCr6iw

My guess is its Petersson's Thunderbird or his yellow Epiphone Embassy - I think Entwistle was using a 64 Thunderbird in the studio on Quadrophenia - so that would make sense.
BTW - huge cheap trick fan since around 1979 - when I was a 14 year old kid.
I blame Rick Nielsen and John Entwistle's "fantasy sequence" in "Kids Are Alright" for my triple-digit guitar and bass collection !!! Quote:

But I must admit, as soon as I saw you had replied I was bracing myself for the snarky comment
