I had no idea The Cult had a new album out. I was a big fan of theirs back in the day. Those guys rock out!!!

Does anyone have it? Is it any good? I think I'm going to go pick it up tonight!!!

I did just see an ad with Billy Duffy and it said "Billy Duffy/The Cult" so that really threw me being that his new band "Circus Diablo" just came out.. That is the band that has former "Fuel" vocalist Brett Scallions on bass.

I actually have alot of "The Cult" on my IPOD

David Nock and John Tempesta are credited as the drummers on this one.

I thought their 2001 album Beyond good and evil was excellent, but the new single Dirty little rock star doesn't really grab me.

surprised me too! it got a rare four star review in one of the sunday papers last week. Must admit I preferred them in their goth phase though I used to frequent a club where 'she sells sanctuary' was banned as it caused 'too much fighting on the dancefloor'. mind you they banned anything by the jesus and mary chain for the same reason!

Update. I got the album. It's a good, trashy-sounding rock album. Glassy, grinding, pick driven bass tones. The lyrics are a little cheesy in parts, and Ian Asbury's vocals are a little unsettling on a couple of slower ones, but all-in-all, a nice album. I'd recommend it.
