As far as the recording goes, it sounds pretty thin. Especially the guitars. The balance is good, but maybe your reference monitors are bass heavy (low end, not bass guitar) ? It actually borders on shrill and doesn't do justice to what sounds like a lot of good work.
If you post your recording / mixing process, we might be able to help you out a little more.
You defiantly have something good going on though. Keep it up. |

| | | | What are you recording through and to.
Interface to computer? Neve desk to 2 in. tape? Large cone to Edison wax cylinder?
you know, what's the signal path? Are you mixing to headphones or studio monitors?
That sort of thing.
I hear ya with the the whole internet player thing, that can be a nightmare, but if that's your window to the world, you want it to come across well in that format. |

| | | | great tunes!
the last original on your playlist has great vocals, but the acoustic guitar isn't on the same level of greatness. I think it'd sound a lot nicer if the guitar was rewritten for electric. imho ;p |

Stay humble, keep egos in check, get some good management, and wait for a brake. Don't be afraid to play freebies, get as much exposure as possible. My wife and I both danced on "ARE YOU GONNA GO MY WAY". TOTALLY FRESH!

"Waiting" is very good also, but the lead guitar is problematic to me. The surf echo vibe seems a little overpowering and not meshed into the rest of the mix as well as it should be. Seems like a minor adjustment would clear that up. Then it would also be in good shape for a pro studio session IMHO.
By far to me, "Take Your Time" is the better of the two. Great job on both!

Great job on timing, energy and dynamics.
About the mixing, i'd have to listen through my monitors.

AS for the recording process, it cost us quite a bit to do those two originals and three covers(which aren't up on that site yet) in a professional studio that some of the more popular irish artists have used before. In saying that it was only ever intended as a demo. There are a few things wrong with the mix i have noted and the others in the band have noted. Would prefer to hear ur suggestions before i give our own just for a different opinion.
As for the bass, i used my GK1001rb head into an eden d410xlt. It was mic'd up with two mics, one was an ev re20 and an older vintage(i was told) mic that i can't name, think it was a neuman not sure on the model. Then it went straight into pro-tools.
