I gig as a keyboard player too, so I am always curious about what other keyboard players are using especially for Rhodes or Hammond emulations. |

Terrific, nails the lifetime vibe and all the playing is great. I thought the bass solo was terrific. I think that continuous onslaught of a bass solo was bitching, to me it's just a different way of blowing. I actually do hold my breath when I'm blowing, so that "breath like a horn player thing" is natural for me...I breathe like they breathe. However, I really like that continuous Allan Holdsworth style of playing. I think it's killing. Jimmy Haslip plays really continuously like that sometimes. Long live the OTHER "f" word.

Will | thanks! believe it is one of my favorite fusion albums. due in large part because holdsworth still sounded like a guitar player back then. i recently got in a couple of radio broadcasts of that group and they play even more reckless live than on the cd. tony just kills it.
btw, i still have your tune that you posted on my hard drive. good stuff! finding good fusion these days that isnt just a vehicle for ex shrapnel guitarists is hard to find. |

| | | | Critique a song but don't critique a solo. You may not like the solo, but you need to understand what improv is. If narud was feeling it that way, which I liked the solo, then that's way it should be. I think there are very few unique soloist these days. Everyone seems to play the same style in a nice and neat fashion, as if they were reading it from a chart. I like that narud went with the aggressive approach. |

Thanks for the compliment Rud and keep up the good work!
It's funny to hear Allan talk about how those guys (lifetime) would be scared to go onstage because of all the musicians who would come to out to see them.
