I just got 'Actual Fiction' in the mail today, signed and everything. It's just Gary on basses (+ heaps of samples) and drums. I haven't had time to properly listen to it all in depth, but first and second impressions are of a very strong stylistic shift, say from 'No Sweat' and 'Bent'. It's heavy, funky, out there, warped and beautiful. Sonically, it leans towards the sound of Slaughterhouse 3, but takes it even further out.
If you are a fan of Gary's work, particularly his later stuff, I suggest you get this.
Check out samples here:http://www.garywillis.com/pages/audio/audio.htm

Outstanding just placed my order.

I heard a rumor that Gary and Scott are talking about doing another Tribal Tech later this year.

This is all excellent news.

Strange, but if there were one player I could be, I can't think of anyone I'd rather be than Gary Willis. I'm pretty happy with my own style (nothing like Willis's, of course), but his name alone would come up. I don't always get into some of that weather channel fusion, but something fascinates me about the music he's been involved with. I have yet to hear Slaughterhouse 3, since it's not really available on CD over here....
