"Floating"
Pretty happy with the way with the way it turned out, although I loathe the slap tone I got. My guitarist really liked the whole thing, and I'd already recorded 5 or 6 takes, so I just stuck with the cleanest played one.
I also wrote about 70% of the strings, which was fun. I don't usually get to write parts like that outside of my solo stuff.
Anyway, let me know what you think! |

Song seems solid though, nice bass playing and the strings fill it out really nicely. Seems to work well as an instrumental, it has dynamic movement and a melody throughout most of it, good stuff.

The drums *shouldn't* be out of time, since they're MIDI and we took the time to make sure everything was lined up, but they may not be perfect. I'll take a look at that, thanks. |

| | | | I really like the guitar tones, the bass is nice as well.
Overall a nice little song.
I agree about some parts feeling awkward. Some of the transitions seem to jump or need more space, some just feel clumsy. Drums seem to be "thumpy" in places? |

The acoustic guitar does get some slightly out of time parts that really throw off the tightness, and it would be cool to have the bass louder in the mix. I love the electric hook. Good job. |

+1 I think that's why it stands up well as an instrumental.

I'll make sure to relay everything to my guitarist counterpart. We're always a work in progress, so anything and everything helps. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
