Some really funky grooves on their new CD. Bass player is totally pocket on every song. Who's playing bass?

I started a thread about this recently and mentioned that Stuart Zender plays bass on a couple of tracks!

Cool. The new stuff reminds me of their early-nineties output (my favourite Incognito period). It's great to see that these guys (I don't actually know how many of the earlier members remain) still going. As far as jazz-funk goes, the U.K. is still where it's at.

Francis Hylton has been with them for a few years and he is also on the album, great player!

I love this kind of music. I'm a huge fan of them, Jamiroquai, and the Brand New Heavies.

I guess Zender was used on "Lowdown" to enhance it's appeal as a single, but I tink he is wasted since he just replicates the original (verry cool) bassline. The other cut he is on is nice though.

I have been listening to the Incognito album for a while now and I do like it a lot - very classy!

They have been making albums every year - but just recently they have started to get a bit "anonymous"...?

But this latest one is a return to form - although not my favourite - which is still 100 Degrees and Rising!

They are touring quite regularly and I have seen them at close quarters live! Not as tight - but still worth seeing as the older songs are so great!

They always have fantastic bass players though - so always worth a listen!

Bruce, I have to agree with you about 100 Degrees and Rising, that CD was an absolute classic!

+1 That album was my introduction to this fabulous band back in the 90s. Love that album.

I'll be picking up the new one ASAP. Always great bass playing on Incognito albums....

Man, I'm playing Transatlantic RPM in my office this evening, and I'm in love! This is classic, classic Incognito! Nothing is smoother than this. Francis Hylton lays it down perfectly!

I checked Francis Hylton out online a bit, and I see he favors a four string Jazz. I love his recorded tone, and he sounds fine live too. Here he is covering a Rufus and Chaka Khan tune with Incognito:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZ3ITIYJlpU

That isn't Incognito - unless Bluey's been dieting hard and hanging at the Jackson ranch-for-skin-bleaching. After having read some of the posts here about "100% And Rising" I previewed the album on iTunes. I dismissed that album pretty quickly when I first heard it years ago. I think I was hoping for something more along the lines of Tribes, Vibes & Scribes. It sounds a lot better to me now, though. So that's two Incognito albums I'm going to have to go and pick up...

"Every Day" from 100- is the classic Incognito tune and is their most popular encore at their live shows!

To me that's the song that is the least "Incognito-like" on the album. It doesn't surprise me that it's one of their most popular numbers, though.
