Unbelievably cool grooves, I'm loving this, just found out about it about 10 minutes ago by accident. Damn!

Funny, I was probably going to start a thread about this tomorrow night--I bought the album last night after I heard about it that day, and have listened to it once through so far (it's a busy time).

It's met my expectations so far, and they were pretty darn high. Excellent music performed and interpreted superbly. Lots of great grooves; the band is topnotch as always and John Legend has stepped it up vocally in my opinion. Owen Biddle gets more of a chance to shine on bass than he has on the two Roots records he's been on, and that's a great thing. Buy this!

Well, you're just spoiled, damn you. I saw them live a few years ago and they were superb, one of the best shows I've ever seen.

This album is tight! Ive been listening to it for a few days now and for me its one of those where you can just listen through the whole thing. Im a big fan of the roots and anything they put out is sick! From my favorite album phrenology to this album. They are a really tight band.

Phenomenal!!!

I saw them perform “Hard times” on Jimmy, and being as the roots are the house band, I initially thought they were just playing an awesome cover with a guest. Then they announce that it a full album? Wow this is(for me at least) the best album of 2010.

Owen Biddle lays down some of the sickest under the radar basslines I’ve ever heard. Every song seems like it is both rhythm and melody. He truly deserves more recognition.

Oh, and he has the coolest bass on the map!

Yeah super cool bass. 6 string fretless, right??? Just sick. Doesn't sound fretless, just sounds fat.

Bringing life to an old thread....just picked this album up after reading some snippets in this month's Bass Player (OB on the cover). It's killer. Giving respect to OB and all on the album for a job well done.
