New Jonas Hellborg material.

The trio of Jeff Sipe (drums), Jonas Hellborg (bass) and Paul Hanson (bassoon): http://www.abstractlogix.com/xcart/p...5&cat=0&page=1

Some video of this trio here: http://abstractlogix.com/hhs.wmv

In addition, just had this email today from Bardo Records (JH's own label):

After long silence there's news again. Jonas Hellborg have teamed up with phenomenal guitar player Mattias "IA" Eklundh for a new version of the Hellborg trio/group. Their first assignment is a six city Indian tour in November, playing material from Hellborg's CDs 'Good People', 'Icon' and...

...the new CD (release early December) 'Kali’s Son', a collaboration with Selvaganesh and revolutionary young sitar maestro Niladri Kumar.

A major European tour is being planned for the spring, most likely a new CD as well. They will start with two warmup gigs at Bar Express in Lund, Sweden. More to follow...

An article on the new Indo-fusion project from earlier this year:

Just read that the drummer for the new incarnation of Hellborg's guitar/bass/drums trio will be ex-Weather Report/Zawinul Syndicate man, PACO SERY.

Can't wait to hear what they get up to together.

true....but I thought his work with Buckethead was pretty cool as well. Probably because Shawn Lane and Buckethead were on the same path musically.

So far I've really enjoyed everything I've ever heard from Jonas with whoever is playing with him.

The new album can now be pre-ordered here: http://www.abstractlogix.com/xcart/p...roductid=20947

Some soundclips on that page. Never heard a sitar run through a distortion pedal before!
