I got the jamia. pretty nice, the whole album is on simmer, never boil. I haven't gone song by song through the liner notes while listening, but I assume any of the super-star bass solos are Matt Garrison. I've only listened twice, casually, so far. Anybody get to spend some time with it yet?
Did you know she's at Yoshi's this week? I may go Friday and my friend went last night. He said she didn't sing or slap a note and it was one of the best shows he's ever seen. She played groove, fingerstyle on an old jazz bass.
He said the new CD is a bit mellow but she ripped it live.
I SOOO wanted to go to that show at Yoshi's, but I didn't find out about it until after I'd spent all my concert money for the month (damn Warped Tour service charges...).
I'll have to pick up the CD. I could use some more mellow stuff lately.
