No kiddin. But on the other hand, how could it get any worse? (And I am a Metallica fan, BTW.)

Turn on any poppy rock/ metal station and that's how it gets worse.

BTW I'm a Metallica fan as well

Peace

Oh great. Now I can't go to sleep. Nightmares of a poppy rock, glam rock, or emo version of Metallica will give me nightmares.

But surely, Trujillo would run at the first hint of that type of migration. Dat dude is coolness incarnated.

I to like Trujillo's past work, but he didn't run fron St. Anger lol, which was like every song emulating a "cool" band of the time.

Alright I'm done bashing new Metallica, I just hope the description is true and it is more like their old tunes.

I mean, I just want some thrash!

Peace

-Benny

I thought St Anger was brilliant, so they'll really have to work hard to top that!

I'll always be interested in hearing what Metallica is up to. They were one of the first metal bands I got into and still remain as one of my favorite bands. I didn't like St Anger, but I'll still check out the new one.

read about that the other day on blabbermouth.

*sigh* I find it so hard to get excited about anything they do these days though. (IMO) They haven't put out a decent album since the black album and even that only had a couple of decent tunes on it.

Trujillo was a "hired gun" of sorts for the last album. He just had to learn to play those songs. This record should have obvious differences now that he is a part of the band and had his own writing and input into this new record. I always thought he was a good player and it will be interesting to hear what he contributes to Metallica's music.

This is their "do or die" album for me. Either it contains some good/solid hard rock tunes that are interesting, or I give up on them entirely. Hopefully they learned from the flack that St. Anger got and put back HUGE sounding drums and guitar solos and crushing riffs.

I'm a mediocre' Metallica fan. I liked The Black Album, and Load (just the first one though!) and Master of Puppets is great as well. AJFA i couldn't get into, and not all of their back catelog is great to me.

Just love the work Trujillo did with ozzy, and Suicidal Tendencies...

Its surely gonna be really good and its gonna be good to hear more than just Lars, and his really annoying snare..

I think Lars was just kidding on those songs titles. They would never do that. You know how they don't like to talk about new stuff, they will do everything they can to not let this album be leaked.I CANT WAIT

Read the report again, he said they were working titles not the finished names.

Have you seen the "Some Kind Of Monster" documentary? Bob Rock was playing bass on the album (IIRC he played a Fender Precision '51). Rob was hired for the album after the fact.

I haven't liked anything Metallica has done since AJFA. A couple songs were alright, but not enough to justify purchasing an album from me. Hopefully they do go back to their roots...but if not, I'll still have those first four albums.
