BTW I'm a Metallica fan as well

-Benny | Oh great. Now I can't go to sleep. Nightmares of a poppy rock, glam rock, or emo version of Metallica will give me nightmares.
But surely, Trujillo would run at the first hint of that type of migration. Dat dude is coolness incarnated.

Alright I'm done bashing new Metallica, I just hope the description is true and it is more like their old tunes.
I mean, I just want some thrash!
Peace

They were one of the first metal bands I got into and still remain as one of my favorite bands. I didn't like St Anger, but I'll still check out the new one. |

*sigh* I find it so hard to get excited about anything they do these days though. (IMO) They haven't put out a decent album since the black album and even that only had a couple of decent tunes on it. |

This record should have obvious differences now that he is a part of the band and had his own writing and input into this new record. I always thought he was a good player and it will be interesting to hear what he contributes to Metallica's music.
This is their "do or die" album for me. Either it contains some good/solid hard rock tunes that are interesting, or I give up on them entirely. Hopefully they learned from the flack that St. Anger got and put back HUGE sounding drums and guitar solos and crushing riffs.
I'm a mediocre' Metallica fan. I liked The Black Album, and Load (just the first one though!) and Master of Puppets is great as well. AJFA i couldn't get into, and not all of their back catelog is great to me.

-Benny | Have you seen the "Some Kind Of Monster" documentary? Bob Rock was playing bass on the album (IIRC he played a Fender Precision '51). Rob was hired for the album after the fact.

A couple songs were alright, but not enough to justify purchasing an album from me. Hopefully they do go back to their roots...but if not, I'll still have those first four albums.
