Hetfield needs to grow his hair long again. He looks weird with Hammet and Trujillo.

Am I the only one that thinks they were shooting for "coffin-shaped vagina" when the new album cover was designed?

That is EXACTLY what I thought when I saw it. Ehhh, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I really dont get how some people view the new album art.
Its an interesting concept and it gives more meaning to the title "death magnetic".

its brown, grey, and coffin shaped. female genitals dont look like that .

I always like to hear what they do. I never thought St. Anger was that terrible, except for that snare...offff. Anyway I always liked Newsted but even in exile they still bag on him. James, give it up already he's out of the band!

>>
We talked about working with Rick Rubin, their updated sound, an upcoming Metallica video game, the 20th anniversary of their album “And Justice for All,” recording and touring with “new” bassist Robert Trujillo, and much, much more. And they had nothing but great things to say about Robert. In fact, James Hetfield went as far as saying that “Rob had contributed more to this record than Jason [Newsted] had in 15 years.”
>>

Sorry maybe that makes me a Newsted fan boy, but he is a very cool guy and talented bass player.

Rob's probably contributed more simply because he didn't have Hetfield and Ulrich riding him all the time and not letting him contribute.

Thing is that they never gave Jason the respect that he deserved. I feel sorry for him.

Talk to me, Goose.

Elaborate on the more meaning it's giving.

We'll have to wait to judge about that untill we hear the new album.

Jason added good stuff to Metallica, as far as he was allowed to. I think James said that in vain to Jason, and to promote their ringer.

We'll have to see if Rob really (was allowed) to add to the new songs. I sure hope so, Rob is a great bassist.
But a fair guess is that they just use his bassplaying to place an extra "aggressive-fingerstyle-bass" over their crappy?/good? (we'll have to see) songs.

If I have to choose between Jason and his former band, my respect goes to Jason.
Rob is a really good bassist in my eyes but to me to this day he is just a guy who took a job.
