Ok i know this has been posted in another Metallica forum..but i think this song alone deserves it's own thread..definitly some Justice influences here..I like James' singing on here better then The Day That Never Comes.. http://metallica.com/index.asp?item=601136
There it is.. its a great song....What do you guys think about it?
EDIT: List the flaws and the strong points from the three songs alone..Yes I and you both know the cd is not out yet...so yeah list what you think could of been done better and what sounds good to YOU..

Metallica is a ghost of a shadow of even its diluted "Re-load" era self. This really is closer to the stuff on St. Crapstorm than anything.

This IS the justice album, this song is to me what dyers eve should've been! |

Especially the the vocals and the drums although not as much echo ( the echoing drums is what sucked the most on St. Anger IMO). Still none of the songs bring back the glory days (pre In Justice...), although I never expected them to recapture thier past. |

To paraphrase Lloyd Bentsen, I know thrash metal, I play thrash metal, this sir, is not thrash metal.

I could see it growing on me. I would not call it 80's thrash though, which is cool, they already did that. I will say that I hear the influence of their former selves.

Metallica doesn't sound good raw in my opinion. Sounds like it was recorded in my basement.
They need that million dollar production sound to make the parts sound good.
I agree this song is a touch better than the other I have heard. But it's sound they are "trying" to hard. Like there is no feeling in the music and it's all robotic except for the off timing issues.
Rob's bass sound sound more DUB than metal/thrash. Sounds like a 15 or an 18 with a pillow in front of the mic.
Other than that. The first thing that came to mind when I heard this song was SNAP INTO A SLIM JIM!!!!!!!

| | | | I could hear the bass better in the other songs that I've heard so far. IMO his bass tone just doesn't fit well with the rest of the instruments. It's probably just me though. |

It's certainly less polished than the new single (which I quickly lost interest in), but I assume that's on purpose. I'm not sure I hear much 'Justice' influence on it. |

Huh???
Kill em All sounded pretty raw to me and Ride the Lightning to a lesser extent and I think they both sounded great. |
