| | | Not to be picky, but...Black HOLES and Revelations.
Can't wait.
Can't wait for them to start touring here. I passed them up the last time they came to town--BIG mistake that I will not be making again! |

There isn't much change in the songs and the tempos are near enough the same all the way through out. I give them credit for trying something new etc but to me this new 'electro' style isn't to my liking.

I'm listening to it now and though it isn't as accessible as Absolution, or even Origin and Showbiz, it is a direct descendent of those discs. As mature as Absolution was, this record seems even more so. There are no obvious "singles", like Time Is Running Out or Hysteria, but there are some serious tunes there to be had.
Previous to the entire CD, I'd heard only Knights of Cydonia (love it!) and Supermassive Blackhole (iffy on that). Now I've heard everything but 2.5 songs and I gotta say that upon first listen, it's a big question mark, but I have a feeling this will grow on me and I will love it like the other CDs.
Songs of note: Invincible and Assassin. Watch out! City of Delusion is pretty cool too. Has a Butterflies and Hurricanes vibe to it (and a funky bass break!).
And speaking of bass, if you loved Chris' distorted tones in Absolution, they're back with a vengance on this disc.
***? A trumpet solo?
I digress...
I gotta say, I am enjoying this immensely.

i'm still yet to give it a listen. my only internet access at present is my computer at work from which i can't play music. i'm going to have to wait until it's released unless i can find my friend before that.

Seriously, I saw a live video of KoC and at the part with the crazy Queen harmonies, just before the riffing, the way they build it. Wow. Once the riffing starts, I challenge you not to rock out like Garth and Wayne. It's intense! |

Though I do agree that Origin of Symmetry was their best album.

Then again, was it possible to make an even more bombastic album? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
