It's not really the kind of music I listen to on a daily basis but I got to admit I kind of dug it=)

Too bad it's "just a joke"...you might be onto something :P

you could put out fifteen cd's a year like this but dont ever try to do it live -it would be an epic failure. sounded like good music for schizophrenics with all the drastic meter changes-

It actually sounded more death metal minus the blast beast to me. Reminded me a bit of Necrophagist without the obnoxious growling vocals (not my thing). I dunno when I think progressive metal I think changing/non-standard times signatures, interesting melodies, epic themes, and unorthodox playing. The clip didn't have much of that besides the first one, lol. I actually don't think there is much bad progressive metal simply because if you do it wrong you're likely to end up in another genre entirely and this kinda proved my point .

ha. haha, well im glad you guys appriciate the humor. I posted this on another forum full of guitarists and they all told me it sucked and was a crappy version of Spastic Ink, haha. Like I care. The music in necrophagist is pretty nuts. I do agree with you also, Kwesi. I have no interest in this kind of much, though i am familiar with it.

honestly, it wasn't too bad. If this is your idea of joke music, I take it you aren't a Blotted Science fan.

no, I'm afraid I don't know what you mean. Ron Jarzombeck's method of composition for Blotted science is actually pretty sophisticated. And have you ever tried to play a whole song through? It's pretty demanding...

Yea, this sounds like music that alot of longhairs I know seriously listen to.

I dig it in the sense that there's no blast beats. HATE blast beats!

I'm not sure what you mean by "made fun of it" Paul.
I guess since this type of music isn't my thing, I didn't get it.
It does sound like y'all did a good job on it as far as I can hear.
Do you mean by the way it sounded so "busy?"
Cheers, Dave

Eah, like I said, I know all about Ron since way back before blotted science. I'm not saying its not hard or anything, so dont get me wrong. I'm saying it has grown very boring to me. I don't see much good about it. I mean, its different than most music, so i respect that, but beyond that, its just unlistenable garbage to my ears. The fact that i spent 20 minutes making a song that you are comparing to his cd is my proof that with a little cutting and pasting, anybody can do the same.

Just poking fun at the stereotypes of that genre. Random notes and rhythms that are just unnatural and odd. All in good humor though, as I do like the music.
