New recording. Peavey Cirrus again.

We`ve just finished recording/mixing 4 new tracks.

I`ve recorded the bass tracks using my Peavey Cirrus trying to achieve a "Precision like" tone (Elixir strings, blend towards the neck pickup). We divided the signal between a miced Ampeg B100-R and the AmpegSVX plugin.

I`d like to know your opinion about: overall sound, mix, bass sound and playing.

Here`s my fav track of the 4 we`ve finished.

http://media.putfile.com/Tal-Cual

It`s a simple rock song (in Spanish) where I mainly wanted to keep a deep solid groove to drive the song.

I'm sorry if this sounds overly negative because I have a lot of suggestions, I actually like the song, I really do! Okay, here goes!

- The bass is almost inaudible when I listen to the song with my laptop speakers but is almost too loud when I listen to the song with headphones, maybe you should tweak the mix a little.

- I really like the intro riff but my ears didn't really know what to make it when I listened to it for the first time, I assume that it's intentional that the root notes of the two chords the riff is based on are left out but maybe you should put them back in, it sounded downright bad to me at first

- Not sure if I like the fretless during the acoustic break and the filtered drums near the end (I really love the ending of the song, though!), they make the song sound a tad overproduced.

I just listened to the track....can't understand a word of it but I liked what you did with the Cirrus. I have a Cirrus 5'er coming Monday ( hopefully) and am curious as to how many sounds it is capable of. I think you got pretty close to the Precision sound surprisingly. Good Stuff !

I truly appreciate your comments. In fact, I`m looking for "sincere reviews" not "positive comments", so it`s welcome.

I`ll keep in mind your comments and share it with the rest of the band (luckily you live in Germany, otherwise they`ll go to shoot you just kidding)
